About Through trip
Kit Required: Basic (Over-suit, wellies, Helmet & Light) Wet or Dry: expect puddles Points to note: Very slippery under foot, route includes squeeze (optional) Appropriate for children of an adventurous nature This cave is the all round beginners cave. Starting with a gentle open sloping passage once used as show cave.
Some railings are still in place and a few carved steps will aide you as you acclimatise to being underground. The way on will take you through a series of passages and caverns, all with ample room to move around and little or no obstructions, and within 10 mins, you will find yourself seeing daylight once more at the Tradesmans entrance. (A chance to leave if your not enjoying the experience). From here, the cave leads down and will become less roomy in places. More crawling and clambering over rocks and boulders will be required, but nothing too challenging. Near the bottom of the cave there is an interesting challenge for the more adventurous among you. A 20m crawl through a fairly small tunnel can be conquered if you dare.
