About Round Trip
Easy cave but no novices due to close proximity formations. Must have done 4 previous caving trips.
This cave requires a permit, (50p at the tent) and is locked. (Key issued ???) and parties up to 5 may enter.
No one under 16yrs may enter and experience of 4 caves prior is required. (See Charterhouse rules)
A beautiful cave with huge open spaces throughout the cave. Some more challenging routes such as Devils elbow can be explored early on, or even the Ladder dig further into the cave.
Be prepared to get wet as numerous puddles, inlets and streamway passage is to be negotiated. An impressive waterfall awaits you on the round trip and is free climable. Less confident cavers may require a rope pre rigged from the top, and if water levels are high.
The Ladder dig extension and Great chamber are sectioned of by a 5m climb up the chain and a series of crawl passage and a wet duck. Be prepared as the larger caver may struggle here. High water levels may cause this section to be impassable.
Past the duck, a rather exposed climb leads you into the Great chamber and a climb down through the boulder ruckle will lead you to some rather pretty section of the cave.
